Tolulope Arotile who is the Nigeria’s first female pilot has been reported dead.
Officer Tolulope Arotile who is the first ever female combat helicopter pilot in Nigeria is said to have died at the age of 23 years.

What Killed Tolulope Arotile
In a disclosure from media sources Miss Arotile died as a result of head injuries sustained from a road traffic accident at Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base Kaduna.
NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola also have confirmed her death where he said until her death, Flying Officer Arotile, who was commissioned into the NAF in September 2017 as a member of Nigerian Defence Academy Regular Course 64, was the first ever female combat helicopt.
While speaking he said:
“During her short but impactful stay in the service, late Arotile, who hails from Iffe in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, contributed significantly to the efforts to rid the North Central States of armed bandits and other criminal elements by flying several combat missions under Operation GAMA AIKI in Minna, Niger State.
“The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, on behalf officers, airmen, airwomen and civilian staff of the NAF, commiserates with the family of late Flying Officer Arotile over this irreparable loss. We pray that the Almighty God grant her soul eternal rest.”
Miss Tolulope Arotile was decoredted by The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Tuesday in 2019 as its first female fighter pilot.
The Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar and the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dame Pauline Tallen decorated them alongside another officer Grace Garba, the first female Air Warrant Officer, and 10 0ther officers at the NAF headquarters in Abuja.
Since the force was established on April 18, 1964, Garba is the first female Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) promoted to the highest rank in the Non-Commissioned Officers’ cadre.
Brief Biography Of Tolulope Arotile
Tolulope Arotile was born in 1995. She attended the Air Force Primary and Secondary Schools in Kaduna.
Tolulope joined the Nigerian Air Force 401 Flying training school Kaduna on the 22nd of December 2012. She graduated and became an officer in the force on the 16th of September 2017.
She then proceeded to train at the Starlite International Training Academy South Africa.
She was selected to train in South Africa following her performance during her initial flying training course at 401 Flying Training School Kaduna.
As of 15 October 2019, she has acquired 460 hours of flight within 14 months in helicopter.
She was decorated the first female fighter helicopter pilot by the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs (Dame) Pauline Tallen and the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar
