Jacob Mamabolo appointed the new acting Health MEC
The Gauteng Public Transport and Roads Infrastructure MEC Jacob Mamabolo has been appointed the acting MEC of Health. This follows Bandile Masuku being placed on a leave of absence over investigations of alleged tender fraud.
The appointment was made today Thursday 30 July 2020.
Gauteng Premier David Makhura has appointed Roads and Transport MEC Jacob Mamabolo as acting Health MEC. Makhura has placed Health MEC Bandile Masuku on a leave of absence over his alleged involvement in a controversial tender to supply PPE to the department. #sabcnews

Premier David Makhura during these process has placed MEC Dr. Bandile Masuku on a leave of absence and has appointed MEC Jacob Mamabolo as the acting MEC for Health in Gauteng pending the outcomes of the SIU investigations on PPE procurement in the Department of Health.
Makhura while speaking says he’s disappointed that his MEC of Health Dr Masuku is facing these allegations and he can’t ignore these allegations.
“I am also going to ask the minister for Health Dr. DrZweliMkhize to add a technical team to the Gauteng Health team.” he added
