Former Lindisfarne band member, Charlie Harcourt (Jackson Heights) has passed away. He was reported to have died on today July 28 2020. His death was confirmed by the Lindisfarne band via their official social media handle.

Charlie Harcourt, originally played with the band in the mid 70s. The band had been on hiatus for around a decade but the Lindisfarne name was resurrected in 2013 when founder member Ray Jackson began touring with a number of other former members from various eras of the band. They were soon to find that there was clearly a huge amount of affection out there for the Tyneside folk-rockers but after a couple of years Jackson stepped back and retired.

Reporting the death of Charlie in a series of tweets via their twitter handle they wrote “We’re so sorry to hear that our wonderful friend and former band member Charlie Harcourt has passed away. Our thoughts are with his family. Rest in peace, Charlie x”

Sad to hear that Lindisfarne’s Charlie Harcourt has passed away. Pleased I got to see him a few times with the reformed band in recent years before he finally retired. A picture of him on stage (L) in Hastings back in 2018 here.

It is with great sadness that we have to tell you our dear friend and colleague Charlie Harcourt passed away peacefully in his sleep last night. Our thoughts are with Dot and the many friends and fans he leaves behind. Rest in peace, Charlie.
