Promising Actor from Hillsville Joel Daniel Beeson Dies at the age of 51

51-years-old man Joel Daniel Beeson, from Hillsville have died

Joel passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Twin County Regional Hospital, He was born in Winston Salem, NC on September 13, 1966.

Joel Beeson moved into acting from a flourishing acting and spokesman career following a medical diagnosis of Type III Severe Von Willebrand’s disease.

It is a congenital blood-clotting disorder that results in failing blood platelets and uncontrolled bleeding episodes; He would be treated through IV transfusions of blood clotting factor. Cirrhosis of the liver caused through this illness then caused his spleen to destroy more platelets and blood cells, and he was soon in need of a liver transplant.

I am not certain how much of Mr. Beeson’s medical information to note in this memorial; however, there are detailed threads, newspaper quotes and other contacts available through the internet. I chose to note what information I have regarding Joel’s health issues because there does seem to be some confusion regarding the popular actor’s disappearance from the acting world – I wanted to make certain that hopefully, a couple of the incorrect comments are put to rest.

Joel was a spokesman for men’s cologne – an ironic connection to him, considering one of his most popular cameo appearances would be as “The Hombre” in a FRIENDS episode, battling Joey for control of the men’s cologne area of a major department store -, as well as a former Chippendales’ dancer. He appeared in television series such as “High Society”, “California Dreams” and “Baywatch Nights”; other credits include the beforementioned “Friends” episode and “Columbo”. Movie appearances include “Death Becomes Her”.

Funeral services was held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 1:00 PM with Rev. Kevin Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinson/Beeson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers or food for the family, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.

Survivors include his parents, Daniel Fariss Beeson and Nancy Banks Beeson of Pilot Mountain, NC; daughter, Haley Alexis Beeson of Chapel Hill, NC; brothers, Paul Edward Beeson and wife, Beth of Pilot Mountain, NC and Troy Marlon Beeson of Raleigh, NC; uncle, Joseph R. Beeson, Jr.; niece, Danielle Beeson; and nephews, Jacob Beeson, Lucas Beeson, and Braden Beeson.
