The Home Town John Combe episode now unfortunately doubles as a goodbye to the 70-year-old John, who moved to Laurel after spending a decade in Belize and a lifetime globetrotting before that.
John made an immediate impression with viewers for being the first participant in Home Town history to give the Napiers an unlimited budget. (In fact, I’m pretty sure he’s the first person I’ve ever seen do this on *any* home renovation show.) “The sky’s the limit,” John said in an on-camera interview, shrugging away Ben and Erin’s disbelief and giving the Home Town John Combe episode its official title.
John H. Combe was born on Monday, May 23, 1949 and passed away on Saturday, April 04, 2020. John H. Combe was a resident of Mississippi at the time of passing.
Tributes Floods For The Late Home Town Co-star John Combe
From Elizbeth Fitz
“Just saw the second airing tonight-so sad to hear! John was such an interesting, well-travelled fellow – he was so moved and grateful to you and Ben for giving him a beautiful new home. I’m sorry to hear he had so little time there, but it was clear he was ‘home’.”
“Erin I love to watch you! You are very real! I was so sad to see that Mr. combé died. I loved that you dedicated that episode to him. I loved his honesty and how many times you had to bleep the S word. He was so open to spending. The house up for sale?”
