Notre Dame Fighting Irish women’s basketball Player, Crystal Erwin Is Dead


Notre Dame Fighting Irish women’s basketball player, Crystal Erwin has passed away. Crystal Erwin was reported to have died few days ago. Her cause of death or what killed her is not yet known to the public.

The news of her death was confirmed by St. Paul Girls Basketball team in a series of tweets they made on their official twitter handle.

We mourn the loss of alumna Crystal Erwin, a member of our St. Paul Family. Our prayers are with the entire Erwin Family and all who loved Crystal as we celebrate her life. Her time at SP she was a top female basketball athlete in the area and went onto play basketball with Irish

Former Head Women’s basketball coach, University of Notre Dame, Muffet McGraw has also reacted to the death of Crystal Erwin.

In a series of tweets she wrote “Heartbreaking news today-Crystal Erwin ND Wbb ‘07 passed away last night. The entire women’s basketball family grieves for her loss. In addition to her parents, Ray & Natalie, She leaves behind 2 beautiful boys Marcel and Izaiah. Our thoughts and prayers are w them.”

Few Things You Need To Know About Crystal Erwin

Born Jan. 1, 1985 in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. Crystal Erwin is the older of two children. She is the daughter of Natalie Thomas and Raymond Mayes. She is engaged to marry Jammel Boothe, a U.S. Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton in California Crystal Erwin developed and has taken active role in mentoring program for young women at Dickinson Middle School in South Bend. She enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters as a double major in film/television/theater and computer applications … some former Notre Dame players who wore No. 34 include Jane Politiski, Janice Crowe and Majenica Rupe.
