Car Hijacker shot dead, another arrested on the N3 near Modderfontein (Pictures)

A car Hijacker has been shot dead along the N3 road near Modderfontein.

The reports revealed that  a suspected car hijacker was on Friday morning shot dead and another arrested and  hijacked vehicle seized along  N3 road near Modderfontein.

The idetity of the hijackers are still not made public as the police ares till carrying their investigation.

The situation at the road has   ceased traffic to a standstill for commuters and security agents are seen trying to ease the road for them.

Statistics from the vehicle-recovery sector has revealed  that crime levels in the country  are getting back to normal as the lockdown is relaxed, says Charles Morgan, operations executive at Netstar.

Netsar is a  company operating in the vehicle recovery space, Morgan said that Netstar has first-hand experience of the trends around hijackings and car theft in the country. He said that at the beginning of the lockdown, these crimes dropped to almost zero.

The findings from Netstar’s data are in line with those from vehicle-tracking company Tracker.
