This is Phelisa Lisa who works at the Kloorkop depot for Eskom and dealing with the surrounding of communities of Tembisa, she ask people to put up money together to pay her for fixing any electricity related issues after which she collected the money and never fulfilled her promises.

The news was shared on social media by the popular handle, Man’s Not Barry Roux who according to him revealed that the young lady by name Phelisa recently ran away with people’s money they desperately paid because they’ve spend 2 weeks with no electricity & she gave them an alternative to pay R1500, each household was paying R100 to her friend Thuto Malatji who’s supposedly working for eskom but eskom doesn’t know him.

It is obvious that Phelisa had scammed the community by extorting money from them with promises of helping them out from their plight but when  she was confronted she took matters into her own hands  by  slapping one on the community members who  asked her why she’s making them pay.

Although the electricity distribution company Eskom have not been contacted or said anything about the incident but on Thursday night about four generation units that had broken down over the past few days in Durban was returned to service.

The utility issued two statements this week warning of a constrained system due to the breakdowns and asked customers to use electricity sparingly to avoid rotational blackouts.

The company said the “extraordinary efforts” by its teams “in the challenging working environment brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, added more than 3 000MW to the generation system (on Thursday night)”.
