Carsyn Davis, 17 year old Cypress Lake High School student has passed away. The teenager was reported to have died on Tuesday due to complications from COVID-19. Carsyn Davis died on Tuesday at 1:06 p.m.

After showing symptoms of coronavirus, The 17 year old Carsyn Davis got admitted to the Children’s Hospital on Friday, and two days later, on her 17th birthday she was admitted to the intensive care unit with COVID-19, according to a GoFundMe page organized by friends of Davis.

She was airlifted on Monday to a hospital across the state to be put on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for cardiac and respiratory support.

Her death was made knwon to the public by the School board during a Lee County School Board meeting on Tuesday. Melissa Giovanelli who is a board member of the school took a moment to inform the members of Davis’ death.

“And to let the family know that we are thinking of them and our hearts and prayers are with them,” Giovanelli said

Cypress Lake High School Orchestra posted on its Facebook page the news of Davis’ death, saying she was a vocal student.

“We are heartbroken for the loss of a young lady who brought so much light into the world,” the posts reads.
