Tom Nichols Brother, Professor Jim Nicholas Has Passed Away

Academic specialist on international affairs, currently a professor at the U.S. Naval War College and at the Harvard Extension School has lost his brother, Professor Jim Nicholas. The cause of his death is not yet known.

Jim Nicholas death was announced on social media this morning as friends and well wishers trooped in to pen down their tributes to the Late Jim.

Tom Nichols in a series of tweets wrote “Not sure when I’ll see my hometown again, since my brother was my last close relative there. Here’s a picture of the Connecticut River just down the street from my old house. I used to go play on this trestle, because little boys are stupid.”

A twitter user Elizabeth wrote “Just watched you on @Morning_Joe. Always great to hear your take on the important issues confronting our democracy. Please know we are all sending our prayers for healing on the death or your brother. So sorry for your loss.”

Confirming the news another twitter user posted “I read tour Tweet, scrolled thru the replies, the photos and videos and caught a glimpse of you and your brother growing up. Sweet memories that buoy us through our losses. Peace unto you and your family.”

Tom, my condolences to you. I lost my only brother on 3/1, after losing a battle with liver cancer. This is a deep cut. So prayers to you and your family.
