Edi Neumeister the Midlands restaurant and B&B owner has been murdered to death with a panga

Edi Neumeister The owner of Edi’s Bratwurst Sausage Restaurant and B&B in Balgowan in the Midlands was on Sunday announced dead after he was hacked to death with a panga on Saturday morning.
The 67-year-old Edi Neumeister was apparently taken from his workshop into his house where he was murdered.
According to Riaan Claassen of Ballid Security revealed that the killer walked onto the farm and approached Neumeister in his workshop and demanded some cash after which he was then taken into his house and killed.
Mrs Neumeister managed to escape and ran to the main gates of Michaelhouse school before relating what happened to the security company’s guards who called the ambulance and police.
According to News24, Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala said Neumeister was declared dead at the scene, No suspects have yet been arrested.
Neumeister’s fiancée was too distraught to speak to The Witness on Saturday.
His son, who lives in Germany, did not respond to messages.
The Democratic Alliance’s local councillor, Sandile Mnikati, described Neumeister as gentle and loving.
He said he had met him a few times when he went to the establishment.
“The brutal killing of one of the most gentle and loving members of our community is a tragedy.
“A life was lost to criminals in such a merciless manner and will leave a scar on our community for years to come.”
