Update: The Missing Oklahoma girl has been found but dead… Her was body recovered in the Carson Creek’s Firefly area on Broken Bow Lake.
Days after she was reported missing, a new update from McCurtain County Sheriff Kevin Clardy has it that, missing Lyla Johnson has been found but dead. According to McCurtain County Sheriff Kevin Clardy, Leilah Johnson was drowned.
Her body was discovered by divers after 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning in the Carson Creek’s Firefly area on Broken Bow Lake.
On Monday around 4 p.m the McCurtain office got a call that a young girl was missing on Monday, June 1 after she was last seen at Beaver Bend.
Family members thought she was either abducted or drowned, Sheriff Clardy said. Some family members thought she was with other members of the family.
Giving update about Layla, Sheriff Clardy said that no one saw her go into the lake; however, her grandmother suspected that she was in the water.
Crews found her about 25 yards from where the grandmother thought she would be. Her body is being sent to the medical examiner; detectives do not expect foul play.
Investigation to what led to the death of Layla Johnson is currently going on. Hopefuly the police will be releasing more updates about Layla’s death soon.
