Ex-GMD Of NNPC, Maikanti Baru dies at age of 60 years
NIGERIA: – Former GMD Of NNPC, Maikanti Baru has Died at the age of 60yrs.
His death was confirmed by his predecessor and current GMD of the corporation, Mele Kyari on his verified Twitter handle, saying that Maikanti Baru died last night.
“My brother, my friend and my mentor, Dr Maikanti Kachalla Baru, immediate past GMD of NNPC died late last night. He was of exemplary character and disposition. May Allah forgive him and have mercy upon him.”

Mr Baru who was born in 1959 started his career as an engineer before he got through the ranks at the NNPC.
He was appointed in 2016 to be the chairman of the organization by the Nigerian president Mohammed Buhari.
Mr Baru cause of death is yet to be made known to the members of the public.
