Golden Arrows defender, Nkanyiso Mngwengwe is dead

Golden Arrows football club loses defender, Nkanyiso Mngwengwe. South African footballer and Golden Arrows defender, Nkanyiso Makhanya has passed away, according to reports from the club. Nkanyiso Mngwengwe populary known as “Sgora” died in the early hours of Monday. The cause of his death was not disclosed to the public. Nkanyiso Mngwengwe “Sgora” died at the age of 30.

Nkanyiso Mngwengwe “Sgora” death was disclosed to the public by the Golden Arrows football club. In the statement the club stated that the late soccer star contributed greatly to the success of the club.

The official statement reads below..

Lamontville Golden Arrows Football Club would like to confirm the untimely passing away of our footballer Mr. Nkanyiso Mngwengwe “Sgora”, as we in the Abafana Bes’thende family affectionately knew him, sadly passed in the early hours of the morning.

Mr. Mngwengwe made his debut for Arrows in August 2013 and went on to play more that 140 matches for Arrows over the years. He was a dedicated member of the Abafana Bes’thende who was always ready to go an extra mile for the good of the team. His sudden passing leaves a void in the team.

The Chairlady Ms. Mato Madlala received the news of the passing of Mr. Mngwenge with great shock and sadness. “I am saddened by the passing away of Nkanyiso. I remember when he first arrived at Arrows as a promising footballer, full of energy. He was always ready to fight for the team and acquitted himself very well over the years, said Ms. Madlala.

She also extended her sincere condolences to Mr. Mngwengwe’s family, friends and teammates, “I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Nkanyiso’s family. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult moment said Ms Madlala.

The details of Mr. Mngwengwe’s funeral are yet to be finalist. Arrows is in contact with his family in this regard.
