This is not fair! A statement from my son Christian Jackson after learning that one of his best friends drowned today in Big Bear Lake. Yes I told him…life is not fair and our next day is not promised. BUT – I shared with him that his friendship with Kalen Thomas will be with him forever. Last time Kalen and I hugged, he was accompanying Christian back to the University of Arizona where they were roommates. I am praying for his father and mother who I am sure are struggling with this incident. As a parent, I can only imagine the grief.

Our days are numbered and we do not know when we will meet our Savior. Every day is one to treat like your last. We are challenged during these times to remember to treat each other with Love and Respect. I know that Kalen is with his Savior now and that gives me comfort and assurance. He will be missed and admired for how he touch me and my family’s life. A few years and we will see you soon. We love you Kalen!

The St. Eugene School confirmed the death of their alum, Kalen. On their official Facebook page they wrote “Rest In Peace to one of our St. Eugene alum, Kalen Thomas. Our prayers are with your family during this difficult time.”
