NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle winner Shawn Gann dies at the age of 42.
His death was confirmed by The Dragbike.com on their facebook page where they posted their tribute to Shawn Gann with caption along with his throwback images:
” Losing a member of the drag racing community is never easy. We have heard that Pro Stock Motorcycle racer Shawn Gann passed last night. We will post more information once details are confirmed.

Shawn Gann died on MAY 16th 2020 at the age of 42. although the cause of Shawn Gann’s death is yet to be made known.
Retired Fire Captain at California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection manager, Dennis Bagshaw also dropped his heartfelt tribute on his social media handle where he said:
“Anyone who knew Shawn would tell you that he was, “out there”. But he was a good guy. Any time we talked, he was respectful, funny, and enjoyable.
And….he could ride!
My heart goes out to his family and friends. He will be missed on and off of the track”
A Fan of the late motorcycle champion, Barrichello Nitro couldn’t hold his grieve as he also shared his emotional tribute to Shawn and his berieved family.
“Omg! I will truly miss him. I always enjoy talking with him on the phone and at the track. He had the best leathers out of anyone ever. Great personality, find guy. He will be truly missed”
Ghann came to the spotlight through hsi first NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle victory in 2001 after participating at the Strip Las Vegas Motor Speedway riding his family motorbike.
Gann also had nine career runner-ups, including four straight near misses at the prestigious NHRA U.S. Nationals 2001-2004. Gann also clocked seven NHRA Top 10 finishes in the standings, including a career-best third in 2003.
He is popular for his shiny chrome-style racing leathers, is a variety of hues –- reds, greens, blues –- that were a bright and lively as him. In 2013 and ’14, he sported a Batman-inspired set of shiny leathers.
