Popular Zambian musician and songwriter, George Mulowa popularly known by his stage name as Shimpanzi has passed away. Shimpanzi was reported to have died in the University teaching hospital after a long battle with an undisclosed illness.

Shimpanzi rose to fame after releasing hit song Bushe Ndine Gong a” which featured uncle Ja. Shimpanzi fame continued to rise which followed the release of  ”Nkuku na Nkanga”.

The cause of Shimpanzi’s death was not revealed to the public. Top celebrities are currently pouring down their tributes to the late artiste.

B flow in an official Facebook post penned down his tribute to Shimpanzi, describing his death as a sad one.

“Another good one gone. Rest in peace my brother Shimpanzi. We first met at Romaside in 2006 during our struggle for a breakthrough in music. A guy who stayed out of trouble and laughed with everyone. May the world remember your great contribution to the Zambian music industry.”

Organised Family wrote: “The Zambian musician we did the Nkuku na Nkanga song #Shimpanzi is no longer with us rest in peace our brother from another mother till we meet again.”
