Preacher & Gospel singer Malibongwe Gcwabe is dead

Is Malibongwe Gcwabe dead? many questions popping all over the internet Popular South African pastor and gospel musician, Malibongwe Gcwabe has passed away. Malibongwe Gcwabe died today Wednesday 13 May 2020. Malibongwe Gcwabe cause of death was as a result of complication of chest pain. Before his death he was a former pastor at Assembles of God Church in Mdantsane.

Malibongwe Gcwabe death was made known public by his assistant manager, Lucky Shingwe. According to Lucky Shingwe, the preacher died on Wednesday at Cecilia Makiwane Hospital (CMH).

“I can confirm that Malibongwe has passed away. We are here at Makiwane (CMH) with his wife,” he said.

According to Shongwe, the Enkosi Bawo hitmaker was taken to hospital on Wednesday for chest related problems.

“We later heard the news that his passed away,” he said.

He said Gcwabe’s death was a huge loss.

On February 2017, Malibongwe Gcwabe released his twentieth album called: 20 years of God’s favour. He started singing at an early age of eight, At age 8 he was already singing in the church choir and also sang isicathamiya. At school he sang a solo piece because he had a nice tenor voice. Malibongwe Gcwabe started to record professionally in 1994. Gcwabe career had been plagued by controversy over the years.

He is awarded for his bravery in the Music fraternity.

Malibongwe Gcwabe 20th Album

Speaking about his 20th album during an interview he had in 2017, Malibongwe Gcwabe the album as a favour from God

The title of the album says it all. Its called 20 years of God’s favour, it was a favour from above, it was the grace from God. I Say this because its not been an easy journey, somewhere somehow the road was bumpy, especially in the first 10 years, I felt like giving up but in God I trusted, he said.

On June 2010, Malibongwe Gcwabe wife dumped him because of infidelity. During that period he was also forced to resign from his church.

Pastor Malibongwe Gcwabe, of the Assemblies of God church in Mdantsane, resigned after details of his relationship with his 19-year-old backing vocalist surfaced recently.

Although he claims that he has not been dumped by his wife Lutho, she confirmed to Sowetan that she left Gcwabe after both he and his girlfriend Amanda Matoto confessed to having an affair for two years.
