Jessica and Brandon Satterfield have lost their son, Zion.  According to Jessica, Zion while playing yesterday morning had an accident that led to his death. Zion Satterfield was just 10 years of age. He was an active member of Bridgeway Church.

Confirming the news in a Facebook post via their Grace While We Wait Page Jessica wrote…

I never dreamed I would have to write these words. I never imagined this would be part of our story. Yesterday morning, while playing Zion had an accident that took his life. We are absolutely heartbroken and devastated.

It feels like we will never move on from this. But I know we will. We have a steadfast Hope that isn’t shaken. Not even death has the final word over his life. In so many ways Zion’s story is just beginning. We miss our dear boy so much that words could never say. Our house is quiet and what I wouldn’t give to hear him call “mommy,” one more time. We’ve been held by Papa like we’ve never felt before. His presence truly is our joy.

As you can imagine, we would love your prayers for our family and friends. And we would appreciate you honoring his story and respecting our privacy during this time.

Born in Greer, he was the son of Brandon and Jessica Satterfield.

Zion was adopted by Jessica and Brandon on January 2020. Zion is survived by his sister, Selah Satterfield; brother, Micah Satterfield; brother, D Grayson; grandparents, Tom and Nancy Reed, and Wanda Goodwin; aunts, Stephanie Atkins and husband, Tripp, and Jenna Mills and husband, James; great-grandmothers, Lottie Satterfield, and Agnes Hooker; and great-grandfather, Frank Steading. Zion had the privilege of being loved by two families, the Satterfields and the Graysons.
