This is How James Jordan Was Murdered
James had went down to North Carolina to attend the funeral of a former co-worker. He had to drive back to Charlotte and board a flight back to Chicago. Riding the brand new Lexus SC400 gifted by his son, James took a break from driving and proceeded to take a nap on US Highway 74.
Around the area, two teenagers named Danny Green and Larry Demery had met up to hang around. Much to their surprise, they saw a flashy red Lexus parked on the highway with a man napping inside it. They attempted to rob him, then murdered him with a gunshot and drove away with the car.
Eleven days later, his body was identified in a swamp. It took a few days for the doctors to confirm that it was the father of the three-time NBA champion. The kids had no idea they had just killed MJ’s father. A series of phone calls attempted by the two boys led to their capture by the police, a few days later.
Micheal Jordan reveals what life was like after the tragic death of his father.
After months have passed losing his father to the dare hands of death, Jordan made an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show. He was wearing a gray suit that almost reflected his grim state of mind. Oprah immediately asked Jordan if he felt like confronting the two boys responsible for the murder.
“I haven’t gotten to that stage yet. It’s been a very tough time for me to deal with it. I don’t have any feelings against him yet, because it has not really sunk in yet,” Jordan expressed.
Apart from revealing that it really hadn’t sunk in yet, he stated he hardly wanted to know the reason behind it. “It would probably hurt me even more just to know their reasons.” Jordan did not want to face the reason why the boys murdered his father. He chose to stay away from it, claiming it would have been a meaningless or silly one.
Media Blames Michael Jordan For His Father’s Death
In an exclusive interview last night, Michael Jordan got teary eyed talking about his father, and people have the audacity to say Jordan had a gambling suspension. His dad was a murdered man, have some respect.
“Today would have been my father’s 70th birthday. While known for his political interviews, I’ve always enjoyed his public interest ones more.”- Michael discussing “Roots” & his white “adopted brother” on MTP.
He said that his late father was the only one who knew he planned to retire after winning his third NBA title in 1993.
different times, man. James Jordan was out of touch for days and that didn’t trip people off. communication was totally different then.
“After I won the championship…I knew that was probably my last game and nobody really knew expect my father and myself.” Michael revealed after 1993 NBA Finals
I’m watching The Last Dance and thinking of how regardless as to how you feel about Michael Jordan, his pettiness, and his politics, you can’t help but feel for him when he tragically lost his father.
“I didn’t retire because someone kicked me out or they suspended me for a year and a half. That is not true…I needed a break, my father just passed. And I retired with the notion that I wasn’t going to come back.” he went further to reveal Michael his secret suspension.
Only God knows what truly happened to James Jordan. If he was truly a target of robbery gone seriously wrong then the two murderers have to live with that but to blame Michael Jordan for his fathers death is absolutely disgusting.
