Springfield’s Sergeant Jason Boesdorfer is reportedly dead. Jason Boesdorfer died from an undisclosed illness. His cause of death has not been made public.
Jason Boesdorfer’s death was made known to the public by Jason Boesdorfer’s daughter, Abigail who took to the social media to pen down her tributes to her late father.

One of his friend, Brianna Miller wrote on Facebook.. ”I’m still in complete shock about this news. Jason Boesdorfer was one of the kindest soles I have met. He loved his job, but more importantly his family and friends. His dedication always astonished me, and he has to be the only person I know to tear the tendons in his knee at his first CrossFit competition. Rest easy my friend, I will see you again.”
Another friend of late Jason wrote… ”Wow this is absolutely insane to type but RIP Jason Boesdorfer . You were someone I looked up to and trusted with personal events in my life. You were someone I could always talk to and someone who raised my best friend Abigail Boesdorfer to be a beautiful person. Nothing but prayers for everyone involved”.

On June 3, 2014 Jason Boesdorfer was promoted to Sergeant. He’s commander of the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office tactical negotiations team, a multi jurisdictional team run by the sheriff’s office with members from the Secretary of State Police, Capitol Police, Chatham Police and the University of Illinois Springfield Police.
Joson Boesdorfer was among the nine other members of the law enforcement officers who went through the Mental Health First Aid training.
