Supreme court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was rumored dead on Thursday Morning following the news of her hospitalized after being treated for an infection caused by a gallstone.
According to the NBC justice correspondent Pete Williams who disclosed through his briefing with TODAY in Washington DC
said she was treated Tuesday for a gallstone that was causing an infection.
Mrs Ginsburg have undergone a nonsurgical treatment for a benign gallbladder condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, she also went through another treatment last summer for a cancerous tumor on her pancreas.
Tests conducted on her confirmed that the gallstone had migrated to her cystic duct, causing a blockage and infection.
Mrs Ginsburg who is 87 this year, is “resting comfortably” at the hospital and expects to remain there for a day or two, the court said.
“Our prayers are with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg,” White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany tweeted. “We wish her a speedy recovery as we send our love and well wishes!” He said
Ruth Bader Ginsburg was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1933.
She is an American lawyer and Jurist, an Associate Justice of the U.S Supreme Court.
Ginsburg have spent part of her legal career as an advocate for the advancement of gender equality and women’s rights, winning multiple victories arguing before the Supreme Court.
