At least not less than eight people have been reported dead after a gas leak in vizag vishakapatnam, South India, hundreds reportedly unconscious. Reports have it that gas leak also killed animals and little children.
Hundred have rushed to a nearby hospital and many are currently facing difficulties in breathing.. doctors confirm.
The leak, in the city of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh state, has been traced to the LG Polymers plant.
The cause of the gas leak was a result of negligence by workers at LG polymer company.. officials say. The tragic incident happened around 03:00 local time (21:30 GMT)
The leak occurred when the plant was being re-opened for the first time since 24 March when India went into lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus. Video shared on twitter and other social media platforms show people fainting and dropping dead.
