The news of the death of actor Arvind Trivedi who played Ravana in the television serial Ramayana is false. Rumors of his death continued to circulate on social media on Sunday. After that in the evening, his nephew Kaustubh Trivedi gave a tweet informing him of his well being and appealed not to spread false news.

In his tweet, Kaustubh wrote, ‘Dear Sarvajan, my uncle Arvind Trivedi Lankesh is completely fine and safe. It is requested to stop spreading fake news and please spread the news of their being safe. Thank you.’

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, Arvind Trivedi made a tweet while welcoming Sarvadaman Banerjee who played Krishna in the serial ‘Sri Krishna’ on social media. In which he wrote, ‘Jai Shri Krishna… you are welcome’.

He alongside his brother Upendra Trivedi, has been prolific in Gujarati cinema for over 40 years.

Recently created new world record of viewership

The ‘Ramayana’ serial during the re-telecast has recently set a new world record of viewership. In a tweet, Doordarshan wrote, ‘World record, the re-telecast of Ramayana on Doordarshan has broken the viewership records worldwide. The show has become the most watched show. Which was watched by 16 million viewers on 16 April.

Trivedi came on Twitter last month

The telecast of ‘Ramayana’ started on Doordarshan from 28 March after the lockdown began in the country and Arvind Trivedi entered the social media site ‘Twitter’ a few days later on 12 April. In his first tweet, he wrote, ‘I finally got on Twitter’.

‘Lankesh’ was born in Madhya Pradesh

Arvind Trivedi was born on 8 November 1938 in the city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, but he made Gujarat his work place. He started his career in Gujarati theater. His brother Upendra Trivedi has been a popular name in Gujarati cinema and has acted in Gujarati films. Lankesh i.e. Arvind Trivedi has acted in about 300 films. Religious and social films of Gujarati language got him recognition in Gujarati audience. TV’s Ravan i.e. Arvind Trivedi has also been a Member of Parliament from Sabarkantha in Gujarat.
