INDONESIA – Pulo Gadung Teenage Viral Action Rages Because of Tarawih at the Mosque Criticized, Jakarta – The action of dozens of teenagers went berserk and damaged the fence of residents’ houses in RW 03, Jati Village, Pulogadung, East Jakarta viral on social media (social media). They went on a rampage because they were suspected of not being criticized when tarawih prayed in congregation at the mosque.

The incident was justified by Pulo Gadung Sub-District Chief, Bambang Pangestu. According to him, the incident occurred on Friday 24 April 2020 in the morning.

At the beginning of the tarawih prayer on Thursday, April 23, 2020, H Aselih took photos or videos of the tarawih prayer activities, “Bambang said when confirmed, Sunday (4/26/2020).

According to Bambang, the homeowner used his son’s Twitter account and tried to inform the tarawih prayers at the mosque to DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.

Because, Jakarta has implemented a Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in order to deal with the corona or covid-19 virus pandemic.

“As a result of the H Aselih report, a group of teenagers who used to carry out activities to wake the sahur in RW 03 were angry with the family of H. Aselih. They did in front of the Aselih house that burned firecrackers, damaged potted plants, and pushed the fence of the house,” explained Bambang.

The problem is finished

According to Bambang, residents accompanied by police officers had mediated on Saturday 25 April 2020 at around 21:00 WIB. The problem has also been solved amicably although some teenagers still demand an apology from the homeowner.

“Chairman of the RW and the environment has appealed to teenagers and local residents not to carry out anarchist activities again and if it happens again it will be handed over to the authorities and must be accountable before the law,” Bambang stressed.
