Kaduna Records 5 New Cases Of Covid-19 As 3 Positive Patients Flees From Kano State Isolation Centre



NIGERIACommissioner of Health Dr Ambaloni on Monday  confirmed another  five new cases of Covid-19 have  among five almajirai who were in a set that was recently repatriated from Kano. This has increased active Covid-19 cases in the state to nine.


The news was posted by the Kaduna state government revealing that there has been another 5 new cases of coronavirus in the state.

Meanwhile  three persons who tested positive of COVID-19 in the Kano state flee  from their isolation center with their phones switched off.

The news was confirmed by Tijjani Hussaini, who is the State coordinator of the technical response team on Covid-19 on Monday, he said that his team are already on top of the situation, promises that they will be fished out from their hiding and returned back to the designated isolation centre.

“Out of 77 confirmed cases tested positive in Kano, we are yet to trace three persons, because they have changed (their) place(s) of residence and switched off their phones. But we have sought the assistance of security personnel to trace them and take appropriate action,” he said.

He went further to say that the team in collaboration with traditional ward heads are working round the clock to trace the patients.

The Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, While speaking with BBC Huasa Service on Monday accused the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 of neglecting the state in its current battle against coronavirus spread.

“We are in a serious problem. I can tell you the situation is really bad and scary. Because what we solely rely upon in fighting the disease is the testing centre. he said

“This laboratory suspended its operation five or six days ago. There is also a shortage of sample collection equipment. It is not a common equipment that you can go and buy in the market. Those whose samples were collected are still waiting to know their fate.” he revealed
