Who Is Johnson Barasa? Johnson Barasa is a renowed Kenyan cameraman journalist who worked with South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) for two decades.

An exceptional, formidable and brilliantly acute veteran journalist, Johnson Barasa has been laid to rest. Johnson Barasa was buried today in  his hometown in Kitale, Nairobi Kenya. Until the time of his death Barasa was working for South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).

John Barasa was reported to have died of Heart Attack last week Tuesday. Johnson Barasa worked for SABC for more than two decades. He helped set up the SABC East Africa office in 1998. Johnson Barasa was in his early 40’s.

The award-winning cameraman covered all South African post-apartheid presidents from Nelson Mandela in the 90s to President Cyril Ramaphosa as recently as January 2020.

Johnson Barasa Burial

The Kenyan renowned photojournalist Johnson Barasa was buried on April 25 2020 at his home in Landi next to former Moi University campus along the Kitale-Kapenguria Road. Only 15 members of the family were allowed to attend the burial.
