11 People Have Died In A Head-On Collision Between A Taxi & A Truck On N2

Eleven persons have lost their lifes in a fatal accident on N2 road between a taxi and a truck on the on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident involving a minibus taxi travelling from south of eMaXesibeni, once Mount Ayliff and going towards KwaBhaca eventually collided with a truck.
The two occupants of the truck a driver and the one passenger that sustained a serious injuries were immediately rushed to hospital while the passengers in the minibus died at the spot.
According to Weziwe Tikana-Gxothiwe who is the Eastern Cape transport, safety and liaison MEC said that is virtully not ascertain the exact cause of the accident because due to the national lockdown the roads where completly deserted
“This one is really hard to take, especially at a time like this, when our roads are virtually deserted, when there’s minimal traffic flow due to the National Lockdown. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families during this difficult time.
He advised road users to always continue being cautious and adhering to the rules of the road at all times during this lockdown.
“We also wish to call on those who, for whatever reasons, are permitted to use our roads during this lockdown to continue being cautious and adhering to the rules of the road at all times,” said Eastern Cape transport, safety and liaison MEC Weziwe Tikana-Gxothiwe.
